The musée de l'Armée has launched an ambitious expansion project to create new visitor spaces.
The first phase, completed in July 2024, introduced a brand-new exhibition: Les Invalides: Between History and Memory, exploring the rich and evolving legacy of this iconic site.
Over the coming years, three additional spaces will open, focusing on the post-1945 period:
- France’s Armed Forces and Military Engagements
- From 1945 to Today: The Cold War and Beyond
- Colonisation, Decolonisation: A Shared History
A New Space Dedicated to Les Invalides
Housed within the Hôtel des Invalides, an architectural gem and a key site of French heritage, the musée de l'Armée offers a unique historical perspective. Since July 14, 2024, visitors have been invited to explore the extraordinary 350-year history of this emblematic monument.
This new exhibition space begins in the former Vauban Refectory, showcasing three centuries of history through remarkable works of art. An immersive area also brings Les Invalides to life with two dynamic films:
